Five-star Oakley is Horspath 2nd's hero

ED Oakley produced a superb display of swing and seam bowling to set Horspath 2nd on the way to a crushing five-wicket home win over Leighton Buzzard in Cherwell League Division 2. Oakley picked up 5-24 as Buzzard were shot out for just 74 off 21.5 overs after electing to bat first in a game reminiscent of Horspath's last outing at the Recreation Ground when they thrashed Dinton.

The hosts then experienced a few alarms themselves before clinching victory at 75-5.

Horspath 3rd crashed to 91 all out in a 119-run defeat at Bledlow Ridge in Division 5. Mark Dakin (4-29) and Saeed Ajmal (3-7) were the chief destroyers. Earlier, Bledlow had posted 210-7 after being put in to bat with Doug McIndoe (53) and Matt Donnelly (49no) putting on 90 for the seventh wicket after opener John Rolfe had made 39. There were two wickets apiece for Ryan Hicks and James Earnshaw.

Horspath 4th were handed a walkover by Wolverton 2nd in Division 7.
