HORSPATH 3rd celebrated promotion from Cherwell League Division 5 after their home game against Bledlow Ridge was abandoned due to rain with the hosts 96-2 from 27.2 overs after electing to bat. The six points picked up from the washout ensured Robin Pykett's side finished runners-up to Thame Town 2nd. Akheam Fox (44no) and Dan Todd (29no) were going along well when the heavens opened. Horspath 4th were 47-3 chasing bottom club Wolverton Town's 144-5 dec when their Division 7 game fell victim to the rain. Trevor Spindler took 4-29 after Wolverton were put in to bat, with Michael Yeates (38) and Steve King (35no) leading the way for the hosts. The result sees Carl Thompson's side finish in a respectable fifth place.
