Horspath 2nds collapse to remain in bottom spot

HORSPATH 2nd stay bottom of Cherwell League Division 1 after a batting collapse led to a seven-wicket home defeat by leaders Dinton. Jehan Mohammed (35) was the only Horspath batsman to show any resistance as the hosts caved in to 94 all out off 33 overs after electing to bat first, with Waqar Mohammed (5-12) the chief destroyer. With rain around there was always the chance of a reprieve for Horspath, but they couldn't stop Dinton powering to 98-3 off 15.2 overs, with Mark Ludlow unbeaten on 36. Jehan took 2-16. Rain had the final say in Horspath 3rd's Division 4 game at home to Tiddington 2nd. Stuart Berry (45) and Adrian Manger (37) were among the runs as Horspath were bowled out for 144, with Luke Hurley taking 5-30. Tiddington had raced to 81-2 off eight overs when the game was called off. Horspath 4th had posted 95-7 from 35 overs in Division 7 at Bledlow Village 2nd, who were 11-1 off 7.3 overs in reply, when the match was washed out. Mike Naylor (33) and Paul Hicks (29) led the way in Horspath's rain-reduced innings as Jim Spooner took 3-10.
