HORSPATH 3rd have been drawn away to Cherwell League Division 3A rivals Oxenford in the Airey Cup first round on May 22. The prestigious competition - which the club won eight times in their glorious past - was played under the Cherwell's banner for the first time last season after the OCA clubs came under their umbrella. It is open to sides in Tiers 3 and 4 - hence Horspath 3rd will represent the club. The winners will be away to either Oxford & Bletchingdon Nondescripts or Banbury 3rd in the quarter-finals on July 10. Meanwhile, Horspath 4th will be at home to holders Combe in the Telegraph Cup quarter-finals on July 3 after being handed a bye in the first round. This competition is for Tier 5 sides - the level the 4th XI have been promoted to following a league restructure. Combe lifted the cup last season with a 60-run victory over East & West Hendred.
