Harvey's blitz sinks Thame following Alfie and Tejas's exhibition

Harvey Shorter's four wicket haul for 18 runs helped Horspath U-15s secure victory against hosts Thame last night. This followed on from a mammoth opening stand of 132 between the U-13 pairing of Archie Turner and Tejas Anand. After starting carefully against the Thame opening attack the pair expanded their game with powerful shots and excellent running between the wickets. The stand only ended in the penultimate over when Alfie retired on 50. The final over saw 2 wickets fall as Horspath chased runs and the innings closed on 134 - 2 with Tejas remaining on 49* Thame's reply got off to a good start which was only ended when Tom Martin took a smart catch off Faizan Abbas. However the innings fell apart as Harvey took his 4 wickets all bowled. There were wickets also for Jamie Hicks with 2 and Tom Martin. The innings ended on 84 with Simon White effecting a run out of the last pair
