Brilliant Biggs takes 8-19 for Horspath 2nd

SKIPPER Jack Biggs ended the season with a bang by taking career-best figures of 8-19 in Horspath 2nd's abandoned Cherwell League Division 1 game at already-relegated Leighton Buzzard. Biggs's sensational spell sent Buzzard crashing from 127-1 to 158 all out after they had elected to bat. He triggered the dramatic collapse by bowling opener Phil Whatmore for a sparkling 84, which came off 66 balls with one six and 15 fours. Biggs then rattled through the rest of the order in a devastating 9.2-overs spell as he bowled two other Buzzard batsmen, gained one lbw verdict and saw four catches held. However, the rain arrived before Horspath got the chance to chase the runs. The result sees Horspath finish in a creditable sixth place in their first season in the top flight.
