HORSPATH 3rd celebrated promotion from Cherwell League Division 5 after their home game against Bledlow Ridge was abandoned. The hosts had reached 96-2 from 27.2 overs after electing to bat, with Akheam Fox (44no) and Dan Todd (29no) going well, when the rain arrived. However, the six points picked up from the washout ensured Robin Pykett's side finished runners-up to Thame Town 2nd. Horspath 4th were 47-3 chasing bottom club Wolverton Town's 144-5 dec when their Division 7 game fell victim to the rain. Trevor Spindler took 4-29 after Wolverton were put in to bat, with Michael Yeates (38) and Steve King (35no) leading the way for the hosts. The result sees Horspath finish in a respectable fifth place.
