PACEMAN Ian Slatcher took 5-49 as Horspath 2nd ended their long wait for a first win this season with a six-wicket victory at Cumnor in Cherwell League Division 1. Slatcher picked up the early wicket of former Horspath player Luke Finch, before returning to claim four victims in his nine overs as Cumnor were bowled out for 199 after being put in to bat. Jehan Mohammed produced an excellent spell in the middle of the innings to pick up 2-14 from his ten overs, while James Stacey (1-33), Graham Beer (1-34) and Tyrone Eyles (1-45) also contributed well with the ball. Alex Hodder-Williams provided the backbone of the Cumnor innings with 78 from 130 balls, which included 11 fours, while opener James Lee made 33. A first-wicket stand of 115 between Jamie Stead, who made 66 from 95 deliveries with 11 fours, and Dom O'Connor (32) then set Horspath on the way to victory. James Earnshaw chipped in with 33, before Mohammed (32no) saw the visitors over the line at 200-4 with 5.3 overs to spare.
